M.L. Bushman has been writing nearly every day since the age of eight. At thirteen, she turned to poetry and song lyrics after teaching herself to play guitar. She earned a BS degree from the School of Hard Knocks after twenty-five years pursuing a singer/songwriter's dream ended when a Ford Bronco smacked the rear end of the author's Cutlass at forty-five miles an hour. For the next six years she didn't write a word.

In August of 2002, she happened across an online writing course that wasn't pure fluff, and by the end of six weeks she had a nice little story and what Stephen King calls the buzz. She's been hooked (some claim possessed) ever since. A single mom, M.L. Bushman and her eight-year-old daughter make their home in the Sun River Valley near Great Falls, Montana.

Her genre the paranormal thriller, M.L. Bushman recently debuted with  Miracle the novel published by Jigsaw Press, May 1, 2007. Upcoming titles include The Implausible Hero and Elijah, the series; Third Warp and Crimson Ice, all of which are under consideration by her publisher, Jigsaw Press.  Her current work-in-progress is a sequel to Miracle the novel, and a total surprise to the author.  "I never intended to write a sequel," Ms. Bushman said recently, "but the idea simply showed up and refused to go away."

Her credits include the Amazon Short, Traveling Light; Conviction, flash fiction under a hundred words published by Flashshot; short stories such as Revenge, which took second place in a contest sponsored by the literary journal, Wanton Words, and Equal to the Sum of its Parts; nonfiction like The King of Western Rattlers; poetry in assorted venues; plus an honorable mention in a past Writer's Digest writing competition.

M.L. Bushman is a former member of Panhandle Professional Writers (PPW), one of the oldest writing groups in the country, and a current member of the 6ft Ferrets Writing group.

From 2004-2006, the author served as a short story judge for the contest held in conjunction with Frontiers in Writing, PPW's annual conference.  In addition, she was an associate editor for a collaborative novel written by members of the International High IQ Society, second largest such society in the world.
